Earlier this month, on a sunny February morning, just off the coast of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, I witnessed complete and utter stupidity; a complete disrespect for marine life that almost cost a handful of people in a tiny boat their lives.
I was one of about a hundred people on a large, chartered whale watching ship that came across a pod of whales . When we first approached, the whales were lingering about, spraying, doing graceful dives and appeared happy. Cheers of glee spread on board when everyone noticed one of the whales was a calf. The boat I was on kept what I thought was a responsible distance from the amazing creatures.
